Benefits of face yoga for skin rejuvenation

I think that face yoga is one of the most effective anti-ageing treatment you can possibly imagine. I have been doing face yoga exercises for years and it shows. I am 34, though many people tell me that I look much younger than that.

By practicing face yoga regularly, you can reduce tension in the face and alleviate stress, resulting in a more relaxed and youthful appearance.

Plus, if you don't mind looking odd, you can do face yoga exercises anywhere.

Face yoga exercises will make your skin tighter and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. In some cases face exercises can remove wrinkles completely. And that is not all.

Gravity naturally pulls everything down. Thanks gravity. But you can use face exercises to lift your whole face! Not only that, face exercises are really easy to do and low cost. You just need 10-20 minutes of your time. You can usually find enough free videos to exercise your whole face. I have done that.

There is no face cream that will have the same effects, even if they make those claims. Yes, many face creams are really good moisturises. Moisture plumps your skin and can reduce the appearance of very fine lines. But I don’t believe that face creams can naturally lift your face. It does not reduce deep wrinkles or lift that turkey neck. Face creams just don’t do that. Plus, many face creams that claim to have anti-ageing properties come with a high price tag.

Understanding the science behind face yoga exercises

Just like the skin on the rest of your body, the skin on your face is attached to muscles. Lots of tiny muscles. This is why your face can make such a variety of expressions. If you want to lift your bum or tone your arms you exercise those parts of your body. The same goes for your face!

If you want to lift your eyebrows, you need to do some face exercises.

If you don’t do any face exercises the muscles on your face will sag (gravity again). Since your skin is attached to your muscles, your skin will sag too. You can end up getting a turkey neck.

Sorry turkeys, but it does not suit everyone.

5 Effective face yoga exercises for facial skin rejuvenation

All of these face yoga exercises can be found for free on YouTube. I have included the videos for the free face yoga exercises. And by the way, there are thousands of people doing face yoga exercise videos on YouTube. For me, the videos included in this article are by far the best.

Face yoga exercises can be found on YouTube for free

1. Face yoga exercises for the neck and chin

Stand or sit with facing forward. Look straight in front of you. Do not twist your head at any point. Next, move your bottom jaw forward. Make sure it feels comfortable when you do this.

Step one - Lift your head up, with your bottom jaw forward. You should feel your neck muscles tighten. Again, this should always feel comfortable. Hold this position for 10 seconds.

Step two - move your head up and down slowly. Have your jaw forward throughout this face yoga exercise. Do this 30 times. At the end, release your jaw and bow your head so your chin touches your neck. This is done to release the tension.

Repeat step one and step two again.

After this exercise your neck will feel like it has had a good workout. Over time, this face yoga exercise will tone your neck and lift a double chin.

I have included a free YouTube video of this face exercise if you prefer.

2. Face yoga exercises for marionette lines

Step one – make a pout as if you are trying to kiss someone.

Step two - push your pout out and keep pushing. Pretend you are trying to kiss someone but can’t reach. Hold this position for 10 seconds.

Repeat step one and two 5 times.

3. Face yoga exercises for the wrinkles under eyes

Step one – look forward. Put your index finder one the side of your nose at the top. Right by your eye. Put your middle finger at the end of your brow.

Step two – squeeze your bottom eyelid towards your top eyelid. Hold for a second and release.

Repeat 10 times.

4. Face yoga exercises for the forehead and to lift the eyebrows

Step one - place your palm over your forehead.

Step two – move your eyebrows up and down slowly. Make sure your palm is pressed on your forehead firmly. Not very hard, but firm. This avoids creating wrinkles. Repeat this movement 10 times.

Step two – push your palms gently upwards so the corners of your eyebrows are lifted slightly. Widen your eyes as much as possible. Hold for 5 seconds. Repeat three times. Recommended frequency and duration for face yoga exercises

Face yoga exercises should be done every day. If you don’t have time, then do face yoga exercises as often as you can. This means that you will get the full benefits. I would say that if you want to look younger or reduce any wrinkles, then you should make the time. Face yoga does not take up much time. And you are important.

I would suggest face yoga exercises for your whole face and neck. Sometimes you don’t feel like it, I guess. You might want to work on a specific area of your face that bothers you.

You should try and do face yoga exercises every day to see the best results.

You can do that. You can do face yoga exercises concentrating on one area of your face only. For example, you can focus on your marionette lines. Or you can focus on one area of your face or neck one week and another area of your face the next week.

When you do face yoga exercises always have clean hands.

Additional tips for maximizing the benefits of face yoga exercises

You can maximise the many benefits of face yoga. This might be some advice that you won’t like as much. You have to watch your face expressions.

For example, if you have frown lines then you know that you frown a lot. Frowning deepens the wrinkles. So even if you do face yoga exercises you will still have frown lines.

I used to consciously make sure I don’t raise my eyebrows or frown.  But that is temporary.

With time you will learn to be less expressive with your face. This way, you will get the full benefit of face exercises. Believe me, it works.

I am not suggesting you shouldn’t smile. You want to have some expression in your face. Be sensible about it and try and make sure you don’t express your mentions too much with your face.

Precautions for face yoga practice

When doing face exercises remember that the skin on your face and neck is quite thin. The skin around your eyes is very thin. You should be gentle when doing face yoga exercises. Don’t pull and tug at your skin because this stretches your skin causing more wrinkles.

Anyway, all good face yoga exercise videos come with instructions. Just follow them.

Face yoga is quite safe. It is chemical free and a natural way to help you look younger and enhance your natural beauty.

Combining face yoga exercises with skincare routine for optimal results

To get the most out of face yoga exercises you should combine them with a simple and effective skincare routine. Otherwise, it’s like exercising your body but eating unhealthy food. It You don’t want your hard work to go to waste.

Your skincare routine can be simple with the same results. My simple skincare routine goes like this:

Acala Organic Frankincense Facial Oil For Normal to Dry Skin

Acala Organic Frankincense Facial Oil For Normal to Dry Skin

  • organic face oil
  • can be used for face massage or as a moisturiser
  • all natural ingredients

Wash face with a gentle cleanser. Pat dry. If you wore non toxic makeup during the day, make sure you remove it. In this case, use a cleanser that can also remove makeup.

Apply a natural toner.

Moisturise with your favourite moisturiser or face oil.

In the morning, I apply face cream only. The oil can make my face look greasy for the day.

This skincare routine is very simple. To keep things simple I don’t wear makeup either. But that is up to you.
